Hello, sweet souls!
I’m Clara, a painter living between southern Italy and everywhere else! I’m continually moving, looking for the next temporary home, all while trying to come to terms with the fact that I’ve never truly felt at home, or belonging to a place.
The gift and curse of this diasporic angst has led me through many countries, cities, and mental places.
The struggle to create at a pace that goes against contemporary demands has led me to question how we can create intuitively and meaningfully without burning out and without losing the desire to continue altogether. Since graduating art school, the tools of astrocartography and tarot have been invaluable in forging a path forward full of hope, peace, and trust in an alternative production model.
I realised through my own experiences that taking a slower, soul-led path doesn’t mean relinquishing the desire for success, it means relinquishing the desire to control.
I have a bachelor’s in Visual Communication and a master’s in Fine Arts.
Having set up my studio abroad, I know the trials and tribulations of creative practice, far from support and far from the market.
Finding a balance between market and magic has shaped the past years of my life. I hope that my own personal experiments, explorations, struggles, and continual questioning and reflection can help others avoid years of uncertainty and a lack of hope in the unfolding of events.
I have studied astrocartography through books, courses, and by analysing my own map to see how parans, lines and local space manifest.
Astrocartography has allowed me to see where it is best to set up my studio and where I can gain visibility and show my work later, giving me a sense of peace and clarity as I go forward.
